ATLANTA BRAVES HOST NEW YORK METS IN CRUCIAL NL EAST SERIES THIS WEEKEND

The Atlanta Braves had a scheduled off day Thursday and will return to their home field at Truist Park tonight to open a huge National League East series versus the New York Mets. Max Fried will be the starting pitcher for Atlanta, while Jacob deGrom will head to the mound for New York. The first pitch is slated for 7:20 pm. Listen on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM; airtime is 6:05 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

The Braves are currently 97-59 on the 2022 regular season and a game back from the division-leading Mets, who are 98-58. Both teams have clinched a postseason berth, but the question remains – who will be this year’s NL East champs?

Ben Ingram, play by play announcer for the Atlanta Braves Radio Network, said in a recent interview on WLAQ’s ‘Good Morning Rome’ that the Braves will need to rely on their pitching and offensive power to surge past the Mets. He added that he is glad that Atlanta has the home field advantage in this weekend’s series.

Upon the conclusion of this weekend’s series versus the Mets, the Braves will head to Miami for a three-game set against the Marlins next Monday through Wednesday to conclude the regular season. Then it will be time for the MLB postseason!
