OPTIONS AVAILABLE TO FAMILIES SEEKING SAFE CELEBRATION OF HALLOWEEN THIS YEAR

Families seeking a safe celebration of Halloween have a few options here in Rome, Georgia on Monday, October 31st.

Businesses in downtown Rome will dispense candy to youngsters as part of the Downtown Trick or Treat from 3 pm to 5 pm. Megan Otwell, Marketing and Special Events Manager for Rome’s Downtown Development Authority, says that it’s back by popular demand after being replaced by a Candy Crawl over the past couple of years.

Otwell adds that many businesses will participate in the Downtown Trick or Treat, even some that are not normally open on Mondays.

Also in downtown Rome, the 4th annual Treats Not Streets trick or treat event will be hosted by local public safety, government, and community partners at the Law Enforcement Center, 5 Government Plaza, from 3 pm until 5:30 pm. There will be a kids’ costume and best decorated tent contest at 4 pm.

According to the Rome Police Department’s Facebook page –

“Several superheros will be in attendance handing out treats and providing plenty of photo ops.”

Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation will host Truck or Treat out at Ridge Ferry Park from 3 pm to 6 pm. Jim Alred, Recreation Services Manager, enthuses that it will be back in-person for ’22 after being held as a drive through event over the past couple of years.

Vendors will be on hand at Truck or Treat with lots of candy. There will also be inflatables, music, and costume contests. The event is free.
