ROME CITY SCHOOLS APPOINTS GREG STUDDARD AS NEW DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Rome City Schools has appointed Greg Studdard the new Director of Finance, effective as of August 2022.

Greg Studdard holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Shorter University, with a major in accounting.

Studdard brings with him nearly 19 years of accounting, financial reporting, budget operation, audit risk assessment and leadership skills within the field. As Audit Manager for the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts (Dec. 2006 to June 2018) Studdard managed multiple accounts and engagements, completing audit risk assessment and audit procedures for each entity.

Studdard previously served as Chief Financial Officer for Floyd County Schools (July 2018 to Aug. 2022) where he directed all financial operations of the school system including budget, accounts payable and payroll. Responsibilities associated with the role included initiating and finalizing the annual operating budget, providing financial oversight for federal programs, reporting for the Georgia Department of Education and Audits, supervising finance department team members, and assisting school bookkeepers, among many other duties.
