HOST OF HALLOWEEN EVENTS ON TAP FOR TODAY IN ROME AND FLOYD COUNTY

Numerous family-friendly activities are planned for this Halloween 2022 in Rome and Floyd County.

Businesses in downtown Rome will dispense candy to youngsters as part of the Downtown Trick or Treat from 3 pm to 5 pm. Megan Otwell, Marketing and Special Events Manager for Rome’s Downtown Development Authority, attests that many businesses will participate in the Downtown Trick or Treat, even some that are not normally open on Mondays.

Also in downtown Rome, the 4th annual Treats Not Streets trick or treat event will be hosted by local public safety, government, and community partners at the Law Enforcement Center, 5 Government Plaza, from 3 pm to 5:30 pm. There will be a kids’ costume and best decorated tent contest at 4 pm.

According to the Rome Police Department’s Facebook page –

“Several superheros will be in attendance handing out treats and providing plenty of photo ops.”

The Rome-Floyd County Fire Department will be among the agencies at that event. Linda Patty, Life and Fire Safety Educator, invites families to attend.

Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation will host Truck or Treat out at Ridge Ferry Park from 3 pm to 6 pm. Jim Alred, Recreation Services Manager, states that there will be a costume contest, food trucks, a bounce house, and (of course) candy at the in-person event.

The Rome Braves will host their first-ever Trick or Treat Around The Bases at AdventHealth Stadium on this Halloween from 5 pm to 7 pm. Admission is free.

Kids may also trick-or-treat in Cave Spring as many businesses and residents will be handing out treats to kids in costume this evening. Cave Spring Police have advised area residents of the following:

  • Love Street, Fannin Street and Craven Street will be blocked off for Halloween, October 31st starting at 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
  • If you live on one of these streets please be aware of this so you can plan ahead!
  • This allows the trick-or-treaters to walk around safely. Thank you for your assistance with this!
  • We hope to see lots of candy and decorated houses.
