ROME-FLOYD PARKS AND RECREATION TO TEAM WITH ROME DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY TO HOST 2022 CANDY CANE HUNT ON DECEMBER 8TH

(Media release from Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation):

A downtown Rome holiday tradition returns on Thursday, Dec. 8 as Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation and the Downtown Development Authority play host to the 2022 Candy Cane Hunt presented by Coca-Cola.

The event takes place at the Town Green and features more than 12,000 candy canes spread across the Town Green. Kids ages 10 and under are encouraged to come a bit early to pick up a bag, take photos with the Parks and Recreation mascots, Parky and Rex, and get ready for the official countdown which starts at 6 p.m.

Once the event begins, kids will scour the Town Green for candy canes, picking up the more than 12,000 delectable holiday treats all while getting in the holiday spirit.

“We haven’t been able to do the candy cane hunt the past couple of years, so we are excited to be able to bring back this fun holiday event,” Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Director Todd Wofford says. “We would like to thank Coca-Cola for sponsoring this event and the DDA for putting on the Rome for the Holidays events.”

The candy cane hunt serves as one of four Rome for the Holidays events taking place every Thursday in the month of December and sponsored by the Downtown Development Authority.
