ROME CHRISTMAS PARADE SET FOR NOVEMBER 29TH, ENTER BY NOVEMBER 15TH TO AVOID A LATE FEE

The 2022 Rome Christmas Parade is less than three weeks away. The parade will traverse Broad Street in downtown Rome on Tuesday, November 29th at 6:30 pm (with a rain date of Thursday, December 1st).

This year’s theme is ‘The Joys of Christmas’, enthuses Janet Byington, parade co-chair, who asserts that the deadline to enter the parade is November 15th in order to avoid a late fee of $50 (in addition to the regular entry fee).

The cost to enter the parade through November 15th is $100. Byington states that proceeds will go towards the Rome Downtown Development Authority’s holiday décor around the downtown area.

The Grand Marshal for this year will be announced during a special breakfast on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

Awards will be given to the best entries into the parade, including top honors of ‘Best in Parade’, says Byington.

The parade will start on Broad Street at 1st Avenue and will end at 6th Avenue in front of the Rome City Auditorium. And Santa Claus will light the city’s Christmas tree to officially usher in the holiday season for this community, attests Byington.
