APPLICATIONS, DONATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR FLOYD COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SHERIFF SANTA PROGRAM

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office again aims to brighten Christmas for kids and seniors in need via the Sheriff Santa program.

Applications are currently being accepted from struggling parents who need some assistance with providing gifts for their children this Christmas. Floyd County Sheriff Dave Roberson believes that his office is blessed to have staff and members of the community that want to help others.

According to the FCSO page on Facebook, deadline to sign up is November 21st. Apply and get more information online at www.floydsheriff.com or in person at the Floyd County Jail, 2526 New Calhoun Highway, or the Rome-Floyd Law Enforcement Center, 3 Government Plaza. Distribution is slated for Saturday, December 17th.

The Sheriff’s Office teams with Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation to conduct the Sheriff Santa program for senior citizens.

Donations are accepted throughout the year for Sheriff Santa, as indicated by Sheriff Roberson, who adds that monetary contributions are always welcome. New coats and jackets, bicycles, and toys are also sought.

Those with questions about the Sheriff Santa program are directed to contact Mechelle Cliatt at (706) 291-4111, extension 8812.
