FLOYD COUNTY PUBLIC ANIMAL WELFARE SERVICES URGES PET OWNERS TO KEEP THEIR PETS SAFE AND WARM AMID CHILLY TEMPERATURES

Floyd County Public Animal Welfare Services (PAWS) urges pet owners to keep pets safe and warm amid chilly temperatures in our area. Jeff Mitchell, Director, recommends that pets be brought inside if at all possible. Adequate shelter must be provided for outdoor pets.

Shelters for outdoor pets must also have adequate bedding that is refreshed regularly, adds Mitchell.

Overnight lows are anticipated by the National Weather Service to dip into the 20s throughout the weekend.

PAWS continues to seek adopters, fosters, and volunteers. For more details, call (706) 236-4537.

An adoption event will be held at PAWS’ facility, located at 99 North Avenue in Rome, on Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm. Adoption fees will be waived for animals that have been at the shelter for 90+ days. All others will be reduced to $25.
