GEORGIA TECH MEN’S BASKETBALL HANDED FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON BY UTAH IN FORT MYERS TIP OFF; GT FOOTBALL BOUND FOR ATHENS TO TAKE ON NO. 1 GEORGIA THIS SATURDAY

The Georgia Tech men’s basketball team lost to Utah 68-64 on Monday night in the Fort Myers Tip Off down in Fort Myers, FL. It was the Yellow Jackets’ first loss after three straight wins to open the 2022-23 season.

Gabe Madsen led all players in scoring with 16 points for the Utes, who will now head to the championship game this Wednesday night at 8:30 pm against Mississippi State.

The Jackets were led in scoring by Deivon Smith, who had 15 points. Deebo Coleman and Ja’von Franklin each notched 11 points. Georgia Tech’s football team will travel to Athens this Saturday to face No. 1 Georgia. That game will also be broadcast on WLAQ. Kick off is scheduled for noon at Sanford Stadium; airtime is 10 am.
