Today is Giving Tuesday. On this Tuesday after Thanksgiving, individuals are called upon to donate to their favorite charitable organizations.
Josh Mollenkamp, Development Manager for The Davies Shelters, says that Giving Tuesday is a great way for people to support local non-profits.
The Davies Farm Bus will be set up outside Swift & Finch Coffee on Broad Street in downtown Rome from 8 am to noon today in observance of Giving Tuesday. And the first 50 donors to contribute $50 or more will receive a free succulent from Local Leaf, according to Mollenkamp.
Another way to support The Davies Shelters is to join the Neighbor Society, through which donors may make a monthly gift of $15 or more to assist the homeless in this community. Mollenkamp asserts that interested parties may join online and get more information at www.daviesshelter.com.
Mollenkamp adds that there is also a place on the website where supporters may sign up to donate a meal to The Davies Shelters.
