WINTER WEATHER PREPAREDNESS WEEK OBSERVED THIS WEEK IN GEORGIA

The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency has teamed with the National Weather Service all this week for Winter Weather Preparedness Week, which concludes today.

Tim Herrington, the Director of the Floyd County Emergency Management Agency, says that now is a good time to get prepared for any type of severe weather that our area may face this Winter. He encourages locals to update emergency kits in cars and homes. And take care of vehicle maintenance in advance of any potential Winter weather.

Herrington adds that forecasters predict that this Winter will be wet and warm for our area, but it is wise to be prepared for snow, ice, sleet, and other forms of wintry weather because anything can happen.
