THE CURTAIN RISES ON THE GEORGIA GENERAL ASSEMBLY’S 2023 SESSION

State lawmakers gather for Day One of the Georgia General Assembly’s 2023 session at the State Capitol in Atlanta today.

Katie Dempsey of Rome, who serves the 13th District in the state House of Representatives, indicates that Georgians’ current financial strains will be on lawmakers’ minds during the creation of this year’s budget. Efforts will also be made to prepare Georgians to fill the jobs currently available.

Representative Dempsey adds that lawmakers’ work under the Gold Dome will be cut short today as many are headed to California to watch the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs face No. 3 TCU in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
