THE DAVIES SHELTERS MARKS 20 YEARS OF SERVICE IN 2023, SEEKS CONTRIBUTIONS VIA ITS NEIGHBOR SOCIETY

The Davies Shelters will mark 20 years of service to the community in 2023. That milestone will be reached in November, according to Josh Mollenkamp, Development Director, who anticipates a celebration later on this year.

The William S. Davies Homeless Shelters began as a men’s shelter in 2003; a shelter for women and children (called the Ruth and Naomi House) opened in 2019. A full history is featured online at www.daviesshelter.com.

Mollenkamp encourages anyone in search of a way to make a positive impact on the community to consider a donation to the Davies Shelters. Locals may make monthly contributions via the Neighbor Society. Mollenkamp says that in order to help others, the Davies Shelters need help from the public.

The Davies Shelters served 197 guests between both shelters in 2022, states Mollenkamp.

And congratulations go out to the Davies Shelters for being selected as the Rome-Floyd Chamber’s Non-Profit of the Week for this week.
