BRIGHTER BIRTHDAYS CONTINUES ITS MISSION TO BRIGHTEN BIRTHDAYS OF UNDER-RESOURCED KIDS IN ROME AND FLOYD COUNTY, LOOKS FORWARD TO RETURN OF DESSERT CHALLENGE THIS MARCH

Local non-profit Brighter Birthdays continues its mission to brighten the birthdays of under-resourced children in Rome and Floyd County during the second half of the 2022-2023 school year via distribution of backpacks filled with party supplies and living essentials.

Amanda Hale, Executive Director, indicates that this mission is facilitated by the hard work of many volunteers. Additional volunteers are sought to fill up backpacks for local students, as well as items to fill the backpacks like pens, pencils, and birthday party supplies.

The Brighter Birthdays Dessert Challenge, a fundraising event which made its debut last year, will be back in late March, enthuses Hale, who adds that the 2022 event was a huge success which helped the non-profit overcome a pandemic-related slump. She anticipates that tickets will sell out again this year, just like they did last year.

Hale officially became Executive Director of Brighter Birthdays in August as the successor to founder Cristin Warden.
