GEORGIA’S STATE PARKS OFFER INSPIRATION TO THOSE WHO NEED A BOOST IN KEEPING THE NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION TO BE MORE ACTIVE

So how’s it going with that New Year’s resolution? Are you seeking some inspiration in your resolve to be more active in 2023? Georgia’s state parks have much to offer, including a wealth of hiking trails and great views. Kim Hatcher, the Public Affairs Coordinator for Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites, suggests joining a club, such as the Canyon Climbers Club; these clubs offer incentives to get active in the outdoors.

Winter hikes feature unobstructed views of nature, adds Hatcher; these kind of views are unavailable during other seasons.

Hatcher encourages visitors to track their travels via the Georgia State Parks Passport produced by the Friends of Georgia State Parks and/or a scratch-off poster; both may be purchased at park visitor centers.
