HABITAT FOR HUMANITY – COOSA VALLEY CONTINUES TO SEEK VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST WITH AREA HOME BUILDS

Habitat for Humanity – Coosa Valley continues to seek volunteers to assist with area home builds.

Betsy Allgood, Executive Director, asserts that a dedication is scheduled for Sunday, February 19th for Habitat’s 59th home, located on Branham Avenue in South Rome. Ground will be broken this Spring for the 60th home build over in Polk County.

A dedication was held in December for the 58th home build in North Rome. Allgood indicates that all of these home builds have been made possible by volunteers and donors.

Those who benefit from Habitat home builds must also put in sweat equity, adds Allgood.

Habitat is accepting applications for homeownership until Friday, February 24th. Allgood urges interested parties to attend the last of four informational sessions, set for tonight at 6 pm at the Boys & Girls Club at 211 East Main Street in Rome, although attendance is not required to apply. For additional details or to apply, visit www.habitatcoosavalley.org or the Habitat ReStore at 504 East 1st Avenue in Rome. The organization may be reached via telephone at (706) 378-0030.
