Those in search of romance in Rome, GA this Valentine’s Day are invited to attend a screening of the classic film ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ to be hosted by the Historic DeSoto Theatre Foundation and the Rome Area Council for the Arts on Tuesday night at the DeSoto Theatre in downtown Rome.
Festivities will kick off at 7 pm with desserts and cocktails. The movie will begin at 8 pm, according to Lulie Ebaugh, RACA’s Executive Director.
The 1993 rom-com starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan is a classic love story that event attendees will enjoy, whether or not they have already seen it, says Ebaugh.
Proceeds from the event will be split between the HDTF and RACA, attests Ebaugh, who enthuses that specialty cocktails called “Love Potion 29” will be served with a nod to 1929, the year that the DeSoto opened.
Tickets are $25 each. They may be purchased online at www.thedesoto.org, as well as at the door.
