GEORGIA GENERAL ASSEMBLY RAPIDLY APPROACHING MIDWAY POINT OF 2023 SESSION

The Georgia General Assembly is rapidly approaching the midway point of its 2023 legislative session.

Representative Katie Dempsey of Rome, who serves the 13th District in the Georgia House of Representatives, indicates that lawmakers are preparing for Crossover Day on Monday, March 6th – that’s the deadline for bills to pass out of their legislative chamber of origin, House or Senate.

Georgia’s amended budget is currently among state lawmakers’ top priorities at this time, adds Dempsey, Chair of the Human Resources Subcommittee in the House Committee on Appropriations.

Sine die (or the final day of this legislative session) is slated for March 29th. Dempsey asserts that the legislative calendar was set at the beginning of the session.

Constituents with questions and/or concerns are encouraged by Dempsey to contact her. Contact information for all Georgia lawmakers may be obtained online at www.legis.ga.gov.
