NORTHWEST GEORGIA COUNCIL OF THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA HAS BEEN BUSY SERVING THE COMMUNITY, COMPLETING PROJECTS, AND HAVING FUN

February is Scouting Month, and the Northwest Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America have spent this month – and this entire year – serving this community, completing projects, and having fun.

Eric Vaughn, Vice President of Marketing, attests that this has indeed been a very busy month with activities ranging from Scouting for Food, Boy Scouts’ birthday, and the annual pinewood derby.

Scouts gathered food for local food pantries as part of the Scouting for Food initiative this past Saturday. In Rome, this collection benefited The Salvation Army. Vaughn indicates that over 1,800 items were collected locally.

Vaughn says that he is now looking forward to Scout Day at the State Capital, set for March 9th.

Upcoming events also include the Cub Scout Fish and Fun Day set for April 29th at Camp Sidney Dew. And many scouts are looking forward to attending camp this summer, enthuses Vaughn, who adds that now is a good time to get involved with a local troop.
