The Rome Downtown Development Authority is navigating the future of parking.
During the months of March and April, the three-hour time limit will not be enforced upon those who park on the streets of downtown Rome. This is part of a study to determine whether or not visitors would actually take advantage of extra time to park, says Julie Harris, Parking Manager, who adds that the extra time could be particularly beneficial to the service industry. The three-hour per day time limit for on street parking is normally enforced on Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm.
The three-hour limit will again be enforced upon the conclusion of the trial at the end of April, says Harris.
