THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR GREATER ROME BESTOWS ANNUAL GRANT AWARDS

The Community Foundation for Greater Rome’s Annual Grant Awards Recipient Presentation event was held recently. According to the organization –

This year, we awarded $28,650 from our Greater Rome Impact Fund and the First Christian Heritage Fund to five nonprofits in the Rome/Floyd Community including the Open Door Home, Harbor House – The Northwest Georgia Child Advocacy Center , A Teen’s Choice, Inc., Restoration Rome, and The Salvation Army. The common thread among the grantees this year was children. Each of the grant requests the Grant Cycle Committee chose to award grant money to is striving to meet the needs of children in our community. We are very thankful for our donors whose generosity made these grant awards possible and for the volunteer members of our community who served on the Grant Cycle Committee. The ripple effect of these awards will positively impact our community for years to come.

The Grant Cycle Committee identified four additional qualified grants which we were unable to fund. These grants were from ESP Rome, Restoration Rome, the Salvation Army and the Free Clinic of Rome. If you would like to know more information about those grants, please contact us at [email protected] .

Thank you to McRae Smith Peek Harman & Monroe, LLP for hosting our event again this year!

Ashley Garner, Executive Director, says that applications will be accepted for the next grant cycle in the summer; the foundation aims to make an impact on non-profits that make an impact on the community.
