ELECTRONICS COLLECTION EVENT SET FOR MARCH 11TH

The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center, 412 Lavender Drive in Rome, will host another Electronics Collection Event on Saturday, March 11th from 9 am until 1 pm.

Electronic items to be collected include computers, televisions, recorders, and most any peripheral type equipment like printers and keyboards, according to Emma Wells, Director of Solid Waste for Floyd County. Appointments must be made in advance.

Visit www.floydcountyga.gov to find the link to sign up online. Locals may sign up via phone at (706) 291-5266 starting on March 1st.

Only electronics will be gathered at this event. Household hazardous waste will again be collected in May, says Wells.

These recycling events are intended for residents of Rome and Floyd County only; participants are asked to bring proof of residency for the event (such as a vehicle tag, license, utility bill, etc.).

The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center will host a free craft event “Reimagined Recycling: Bring In Spring” this Saturday, March 4th from 10 am until noon. Event participants will ‘reimagine’ recyclables to create spring wreaths, wind chimes, butterfly garland, bird feeders, planters, and more. Space is limited. Call the center to register.
