LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO DO IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA OVER THE WEEKEND? GO SEE THE LATEST EXHIBIT AT HOWARD FINSTER’S PARADISE GARDEN IN SUMMERVILLE

Looking for something to do in Northwest Georgia over the weekend? Head to Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden in Summerville and view the exhibition

“Howard Finster Before He Painted: Wood Creations from the ’50s to ’70s”.

This exhibit showcases a lesser-known side of Finster before he became one of the 20th century’s best-known folk artists and highlights his talent with wooden mantel clocks, toys, and dollhouse furniture. It opened on February 18th and will remain on display through May 7th, attests Tina Cox, Executive Director of the Paradise Garden Foundation. Admission to the garden is free to residents of Chattooga County and is ‘inexpensive’ to all visitors from the surrounding counties, adds Cox.

Some of the mantel clocks created by Finster are worth quite a bit of money these days, attests Cox.

“Howard Finster Before He Painted: Wood Creations from the ’50s to ’70s” may be viewed during the garden’s normal business hours.

Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden is open on Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm. Admission cost for those who are not residents of Chattooga County is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students.

Cox urges Northwest Georgians to visit Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden on social media for information on upcoming events.
