GEORGIA STATE PARKS AND HISTORIC SITES ENJOY AN UPTICK IN VISITORS AS WINTER GIVES WAY TO SPRING

Warmer temperatures have led to a rise in visitors at Georgia’s state parks in recent days, as indicated by Kim Hatcher, the Public Affairs Coordinator for Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites. She adds that now is a prime time to enjoy Spring wildflowers at parks like Red Top Mountain on Lake Allatoona and Fort Mountain in Chatsworth and even at historic sites like Pickett’s Mill Battlefield in Dallas.

The views at state parks and historic sites are quite vivid as Winter gives way to Spring, adds Hatcher.

Those who plan to camp at a state park this Spring should go ahead and make reservations now, urges Hatcher, who says that reservations may be made up to 13 months in advance. Some people have already booked reservations for their Summer vacations and Fall leaf-peeping.
