FLOYD COUNTY ELECTIONS OFFICE TO OFFER VOTER EDUCATION SERIES

The Floyd County Elections Office will host a Voter Education Series that includes three sessions relating to voting procedures, voter registration practices, and the elections process. Each session will include an ‘Ask the Experts’ portion, where attendees will have the opportunity to discuss topics with guest speakers. The series will be held at the Floyd County Elections Center located at 18 East 12th Street, Rome.

Session One will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 6:00 p.m., and will cover general residency requirements, ID requirements, and the voter registration process.

Session Two will be offered at two time slots on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. Session Two will cover the election process and what to expect with early voting, absentee by mail, and election day. This session will also cover the methods of voting and where to vote.

Session Three will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 6:00 p.m., and will cover audits, recap of the election event, and looking into the future to improve the Elections department.

The community is invited and encouraged to participate. “This is an exciting opportunity for members of the Floyd County community to gain a better understanding of the Elections department and the democratic process,” says Elections Supervisor Akyn Trudnak. “Our right to vote is not one we should take lightly. This series is designed to benefit the voters, polling staff, and even elected officials. We look forward to meeting with the public and educating those interested in taking advantage of this opportunity.”
