EXCHANGE CLUB FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER, OTHER HUMAN SERVICE AGENCIES GEARING UP FOR APRIL’S OBSERVANCE OF CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH

The Exchange Club Family Resource Center and other local human service agencies are gearing up for the April observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Tina Bartleson, FRC Executive Director, enthuses that the observance will kick off with the Placement of Pinwheels on April 6th at 1:30 pm on the lawn of Harbin Clinic Pediatrics, 85 John Maddox Drive in Rome. The pinwheels, adds Bartleson, represents the community’s commitment to ensuring that all children have safe and nurturing childhoods.

Rome and Floyd County is fortunate to have so many agencies committed to the well being of local families, attests Bartleson.

The FRC helps parents in need to tackle stressors related to parenthood with the ultimate goal of child abuse prevention, asserts Bartleson. The stresses of life, coupled with isolation, can be risky for families, she says.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month will also be observed in April, as it is every year.
