Local law enforcement agencies continue to warn residents to be weary of phone scams.
Floyd County Sheriff Dave Roberson asserts that the elderly are especially targeted by scammers. The Sheriff’s Office aims to help the public to avoid becoming a victim by raising awareness of scams via social media.
Sheriff Roberson adds that if you get a questionable phone call, you should most definitely question it.
If you receive a questionable phone call from someone claiming to be from the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Roberson says to hang up and call his office at (706) 291-4111 for verification.
