Community members are in mourning in the wake of what police believe to be a murder-suicide outside Truett’s Chick-Fil-A on Shorter Avenue in Rome on Wednesday morning.
The deceased have since been identified as 39-year-old Cassie Davis and 56-year-old Anthony Wayne Green; Green was the assailant.
The incident was not related to Chick-Fil-A, but occurred on the restaurant property.
A statement was issued on Facebook via the Truett’s Chick-Fil-A Rome page after the tragedy. According to it –
“A horrific incident occurred outside our restaurant this morning. We are currently cooperating with the police who are investigating. No other guests or Team Members were hurt, but we mourn with the community.”
