ATLANTA BRAVES TAKE 2-0 LEAD IN THREE-GAME SET VERSUS CINCINNATI REDS AT TRUIST PARK

The Atlanta Braves defeated the Cincinnati Reds 7-6 on Tuesday night in the middle outing of a three-game set at Truist Park. That allowed Atlanta to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Matt Olson got the Braves on the board with a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning.

However, the Reds scored four runs off Kyle Wright in the top of the third to take a 4-1 lead.

The Braves made it 4-2 on an RBI single by Ronald Acuna Jr. in the bottom of that inning and tied it at 4-4 on a two run homer by Ozzie Albies in the fourth. It marked Albies’ 100th career home run. The Braves took a 5-4 lead on an RBI double from Sam Hilliard in that same inning. They notched two more runs in the fifth and seventh innings, thanks to Orlando Arcia.

Jose Barrero had a two-run homer in the eighth to put the Reds within a run of the Braves, but the Braves held on for the victory.

Michael Tonkin was credited as the winning pitcher for Atlanta; it marked his first major league win since 2016. Nick Anderson secured the save.
