Open Door Home invites you to take part in making our newest house a home.
In February 2023, Open Door Home purchased a duplex for its Independent Living Program. The program enables those turning 18 years of age (and older) a transitional living arrangement. The duplex is close to the main home which allows for assistance when needed, but otherwise offers the independence emerging adults need to grow.
The program supports residents as they pursue a college degree, vocational training, or career development while developing skills such as budgeting, scheduling, grocery shopping, homemaking and building a support network.
When asked about the program, one future resident stated, “I think of ILP as a head start. And we all need a head start sometimes, right?”
Open Door Home will host a housewarming party on April 27, 2023 at the Belvedere Club, the private event space above Woodford Clothing from 6-9p. We invite you to help by donating items for the event, purchasing a gift from the registry and/or attending the party.
