Online registration is now open for the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center’s next Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection event, scheduled for Saturday, May 13th. Items will be collected from 9 am to 3 pm at the center, located at 412 Lavender Drive in Rome.
Appointments are required and may be scheduled via the SignUpGenius link at www.floydcountyga.gov. The center will start scheduling appointments by phone at (706) 291-5266 on May 1st, says Emma Wells, the Director of Solid Waste for Floyd County.
Wells adds that HHW items typically collected at these events include liquids like used motor oil, paint, herbicides and pesticides. Electronic items usually collected include computers, televisions, recorders, and most any peripheral type equipment such as printers and keyboards.
This collection event is open to Rome and Floyd County residents only. Be sure to have proof of residency (vehicle tag, license, utility bill, etc.).
