ATLANTA BRAVES’ WINNING STREAK COMES TO AN END WITH SHUT OUT LOSS IN SAN DIEGO TO PADRES

The Atlanta Braves concluded a six-game road trip on Wednesday with a loss to the San Diego Padres by 1-0 at Petco Park in San Diego, CA. The Braves saw an eight-game winning streak come to an end, but they went 5-1 on their road trip.

Charlie Morton was charged with the loss for Atlanta after giving up one run and five hits, walking three, and striking out five through six innings of work. Nick Martinez was credited with the win and Josh Hader got the save for San Diego.

The lone run of the game was a lead off home run by Juan Soto in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Braves remain atop the National League East with a 14-5 record on the ’23 regular season. They are off today and will be back on their home field at Truist Park on Friday night to open up a seven-game homestand with the first of three games against the Houston Astros.
