ATLANTA BRAVES DENIED SWEEP OF MIAMI MARLINS AT HOME, ON THE ROAD AGAIN FOR NL EAST BATTLE VERSUS NEW YORK METS

The Atlanta Braves wrapped up a seven-game homestand with a loss to the Miami Marlins 5-4 on Thursday in the rain-delayed finale of a four-game set at Truist Park. Atlanta was denied a sweep of this series among rivals in the National League East and went 3-4 on their homestand.

The game was scoreless when it was halted due to rain in the fourth inning. Things looked hopeful for the Braves as they took the lead with four runs in the bottom of the fifth. But the Marlins charged ahead with five runs off AJ Minter during the top of the ninth.

The Braves remain atop the NL East with a 17-9 record for the 2023 regular season. They will face the second-place New York Mets this evening in the opener of a four-game set at New York. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 pm. Catch all the action on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM; airtime is 5:55 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.
