The Atlanta Braves shut out the Miami Marlins 6-0 on Tuesday night in the opener of a three-game National League East set in Miami, Florida.
Ozzie Albies got the Braves on the board with a solo home run in the top of the second inning.
Atlanta added another run in the third when Eddie Rosario grounded into a double play with the bases loaded. Rosario also had an RBI single during the fifth. The Braves notched three runs during the eighth on a sac fly by Ronald Acuna Jr. and back-to-back walks by Austin Riley and Sean Murphy.
Bryce Elder was the winning pitcher for Atlanta after surrendering just three hits, walking none, and striking out six over seven scoreless innings of work. Sandy Alcantara was charged with the loss for Miami.
