The month of May has arrived and with it comes an important piece of awareness. For organizations like Elevation House, Rome/Floyd’s mental health clubhouse, Mental Health Awareness is a daily consideration as they walk (and work) alongside their members in their recovery journeys.
As Elevation House works their mission to end social and economic isolation for adults living with mental illness, the organization will kick off the month of May with two opportunities of awareness and fundraising: the Elevation House Annual Online Charity Auction and the First Annual Taste of Rome. Given that the organization receives no state funding, both events are vital to the continued success and operation of Elevation House.
The Online Auction is live now and will continue through May 17. New items are being added daily! All are welcome to browse and bid on a variety of fantastic items, from weeklong beach and cabin vacations, to golf, dining, and health and fitness experiences.

Taste of Rome presented by Owens Financial Group, is slated for Tuesday, May 16, 5:30pm – 8:30pm at the Courtyard by Marriott Rome Riverwalk. Expect a lively evening overlooking the river filled with fine cuisine and culinary flair from at least 20 of the best restaurants in the Rome community, as well as live entertainment by Kevin Allen Music Production, wine tasting by Newby Farm and Vineyard, and amazing raffle opportunities!
Taste of Rome admission packages include 25 Taste Tickets to be used for any food/beverage vendor, one raffle entry, and live entertainment ($50.00 value). There will be a vast array of culinary options at the Taste of Rome and each food and beverage item will be assigned a ticket value ranging from 2-8 tickets. Taste of Rome will replace the Beautiful Minds Gala as the signature annual fundraiser for Elevation House.
A 2023 study by Mental Health America revealed that 21 percent of adults are living with at least one mental illness. With roughly 50 million people afflicted, Elevation House welcomes all to join them during Mental Health Awareness Month, and beyond.
