Local educators, lawyers, business people, and others will compete in the ’23 Adult Spelling Bee to benefit Harbor House – The Northwest Georgia Child Advocacy Center on Friday, May 19th at DeSoto Theatre in downtown Rome. The competition begins at 7:30 pm.

Allen Babcock, Executive Director, attests that over $10,000 had been raised towards the event as of Sunday; the total fundraising goal is $60,000. Tickets are still available.

The cost for each ticket is $20 for general admission and $15 for kids under 16. Find a link to purchase tickets and get familiar with this year’s teams by searching for the 2023 Adult Spelling Bee on Facebook.

Funds raised from the event will support Harbor House’s mission to provide services and resources to children who may be victims of physical or sexual abuse, as well as their families. Babcock asserts that the non-profit offers a safe space for kids to tell their stories.
