ATLANTA BRAVES FALL TO BOSTON RED SOX IN FINALE OF TWO-GAME INTERLEAGUE SET, RESULTING IN SPLIT OF SERIES

The Atlanta Braves were defeated by the Boston Red Sox 5-2 on Wednesday night in the finale of a two-game interleague set at Truist Park. This resulted in a 1-1 split in the series.

The Red Sox took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning with RBI singles from Enrique Hernandez and Jarren Duran. Ronald Acuna Jr got the Braves on the board with a lead-off home run in the bottom of the sixth.

Eddie Rosario had an RBI single later that inning which tied the game at 2-2.

The Red Sox regained the lead with an RBI double from Raimel Tapia in the seventh and added insurance on a two-run homer by Triston Casas during the ninth.

AJ Minter was charged with the loss for Atlanta. Brayan Bello picked up the win. (Former Brave) Kenley Jansen got the save for Boston; it was the 400th save of his career.

The National League East-leading Braves are now 25-12 on the 2023 regular season. They are off tonight and begin a six-game road trip this Friday night in Toronto versus the Blue Jays.
