ATLANTA BRAVES IN TORONTO FOR INTERLEAGUE ACTION WITH THE BLUE JAYS THIS WEEKEND

The Atlanta Braves were off Thursday and will return to action this evening with the first of three interleague outings up in Toronto against the Blue Jays. Spencer Strider will be the starting pitcher for Atlanta, and Chris Bassitt will head to the mound for Toronto. The first pitch is set for 7:07 pm. Listen on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM; airtime is 5:50 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

Atlanta enters the weekend series with the best record in the National League at 25-12 for the ’23 regular season and a considerable lead atop the NL East. Toronto is 21-16 and in fourth place of the American League East.

The Braves wrapped up a five-game homestand on Wednesday with a loss to the Boston Red Sox in the finale of a two-game interleague set at Truist Park. They went 3-2 during that homestand, which also included three games with the Baltimore Orioles last weekend.

This weekend’s series in Toronto will be followed for the Braves by a three-game set in Texas against the Rangers to begin next week.
