GEORGIA STATE PARKS AND HISTORIC SITES OFFER FAMILY FUN FOR MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND

As we approach Mothers Day, many mothers will say that the greatest gift to receive is the gift of time together. And for adventurous moms, together time in the great outdoors is even better.

Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator for Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites, suggests picnicking, hiking, or biking with Mom at a state park such as James H. “Sloppy” Floyd in Summerville or Fort Mountain in Chatsworth for Mothers Day weekend.

State parks and historic sites also offer great Mothers Day gift ideas such as Annual Passes, attests Hatcher.

Hatcher also recommends a visit to one of Georgia’s historic sites for mothers who are history buffs.

Reservations may also be made for summer vacations on the website, attests Hatcher, who adds that accommodations include cabins, camping, yurts, and more.
