GEORGIA STATE PARKS AND HISTORIC SITES READY TO WELCOME MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND VISITORS

Memorial Day weekend is rapidly approaching. Many people plan to spend the holiday weekend in the great outdoors. Those who intend to pay a visit to one of Georgia’s state parks should arrive early. This is the recommendation of Kim Hatcher, who serves as Public Affairs Coordinator for Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites. She adds that reservations for campsites are mostly full for this Memorial Day weekend, and now is a good time to go ahead and book for next year.

The slate of Memorial Day weekend activities will include a re-enactment of the Battle of Picket’s Mill over at the Picket’s Mill Battlefield Historic Site, a Civil War battlefield in Dallas, on Saturday, May 27th, says Hatcher.
