SARAH EMMER NAMED FLOYD COUNTY SCHOOLS’ SWIM HEAD COACH

Floyd County Schools (FCS) is excited to announce Sarah Baker Emmer as the new head coach of the district swim team!

Coach Emmer graduated from Rome High School in 2019. She swam all four years of high school where she qualified for state each year in multiple events. Coach Emmer posted records in the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay and committed to swimming at Berry College. Sarah is a 2023 graduate of Berry College where she earned a B.S. in Biology. During her time at Berry, she swam freestyle for the Vikings and worked in the Chemistry Department where she served as a teaching assistant and as the safety team lead.  

“I am so excited to begin my teaching career with Floyd County School. Swimming has always been a big part of my life and I can’t wait to share that experience with student-athletes from all four Floyd County high schools,” said Emmer. 

Sarah Emmer is USA Swim certified and currently serves as the assistant coach for the Three Rivers Swim Club year-round team. While serving in this role, she has coached swimmers at both the state and national levels. She will join FCS as a special education teacher at Coosa Middle School in the fall.
