ATLANTA BRAVES DROP SECOND STRAIGHT IN OAKLAND, CA TO ATHLETICS

The Atlanta Braves lost to the Oakland Athletics by 2-1 on Tuesday night in the middle outing of a three-game series in Oakland, California. That marked the Braves’ second straight loss to the A’s.

The Braves scored first on home run by Kevin Pillar to lead off the top of the third inning.

But the A’s tied the game on an RBI single from Esteury Ruiz in the bottom of the fifth and secured a walk-off win in the ninth when Seth Brown scored on a fielding error by Austin Riley.

Raisel Iglesias was charged with the loss for Atlanta. Shintaro Fujinami was credited with the win for Oakland.

The National League East-leading Braves are now 32-23 on the 2023 regular season, while the A’s remain in the last place of the American League West at 12-45.
