HOWARD FINSTER’S PARADISE GARDEN TO HOST SUMMER ART CAMP FOR RISING 2ND TO 6TH GRADERS IN JUNE

Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden in Summerville, GA will host a Summer Art Camp for rising 2nd to 6th graders from June 19-22 from 10 am until 1 pm each day. According to an announcement about the camp from the Paradise Garden Foundation –

During Paradise Garden’s Summer Art Camp 2023, artists-in-training will work with teacher Ellen Gadberry for four days, bringing out their creativity by exploring different art mediums. Campers will even get to explore Paradise Garden and find inspiration from the Man of Vision himself!

The Summer Art Camp will take place in Paradise Garden’s Art & Learning Center (84 Knox St.), Monday, June 19 – Thursday, June 22. On Thursday during pick-up time (1-1:30 pm), parents and guardians are welcome to attend an end-of-camp art show and walk through the historic four acres of Paradise Garden.

CAMP INFORMATION:

– Age Group: ideal for rising 2nd to 6th graders

– Dates: Monday, June 19 – Thursday, June 22, 2023

– Time: 10 am – 1 pm

– Drop off at the Art & Learning Center: 9:30-10 am

– Pick up at the Art & Learning Center: 1-1:30 pm

– End of Camp Art Show: Thursday, June 22, 2023 (1-2 pm)

WHAT TO BRING:

– A t-shirt and shoes to get messy in (Paradise Garden has walkways throughout the Garden, though campers have encountered mud during camp scavenger hunts in years past!)

– A snack & water bottle

Ellen Gadberry will be the camp teacher. Gadberry has worked with children over 35 years in the education field. Ellen received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Secondary Education from Oglethorpe University, Atlanta, GA, and a Master of Library Media Degree from Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA.
