(Media release from the Internal Revenue Service’s Media Relations Office):
The Internal Revenue Service just released the seminar lineup for the 2023 IRS Nationwide Tax Forums, providing tax professionals with multiple opportunities to learn more about changes to tax law and IRS transformation efforts.
During three-day sessions in five cities, including downtown Atlanta, the tax forums will cover an ambitious program during a historic time for the tax community.
This year, the forums offer attendees more than 40 seminars, for which tax pros can earn up to 18 continuing education (CE) credits. The wide-ranging agenda includes sessions on timely topics on warnings related to the Employee Retention Credit, reporting changes to Form 1099-K, Payment Card and Third Party Network Transactions, changes to retirement plan distributions under the Secure Act and how to handle virtual currency and digital assets.
A special plenary session will explore changes outlined in the Strategic Operating Plan that will change how the IRS operates and interacts with taxpayers and the tax community for the next decade.
The agenda also includes seminars that will help tax pros protect their businesses and clients from fraud, including a special cybersecurity course. Attendees can also benefit from refreshers on return preparer responsibilities, due diligence and ethics. For the full list of seminars offered this year, visit irstaxforum.com/seminars.
