ATLANTA BRAVES FALL IN 10 INNINGS TO DETROIT TIGERS

The Atlanta Braves were defeated by the Detroit Tigers 6-5 in 10 innings on Monday night in game one of a three-game set in Detroit, MI. It marked the second consecutive loss for Atlanta and the end of a nine-game losing streak for Detroit.

Ozzie Albies got the Braves on the board with a sac fly during the top of the second inning. Ronald Acuna Jr. had an RBI double in the fifth and an RBI groundout in the sixth to make it 4-0 in favor of Atlanta. The Tigers notched their first run of the night on a solo home run by Andy Ibanez to lead off the bottom of the seventh. Michael Harris II clubbed a solo shot for the Braves during the top of the eighth.

The Tigers added another run on an RBI single by Zack Short in the bottom of that inning. Spencer Torkleson had a two-run homer and Short had an RBI single to tie the game up at 5-5 in the ninth. Detroit claimed the victory with a walk-off single by Torkleson in the bottom of the 10th.

Joe Jimenez was charged with the loss for Atlanta. Alex Lange picked up the win for Detroit.
