GEORGIA ARCHIVES LUNCH AND LEARN PRESENTATION ON ‘ROME AREA HISTORY CENTER – PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE’ SET FOR JULY 14TH

The Georgia Archives Lunch and Learn presentation, “Rome Area History Center – Past, Present, and Future,” by Robin Klemm, the new Outreach Archivist for the Georgia Archives, will be held onsite. The presentation is on Friday, July 14, 2023, from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Georgia Archives, 5800 Jonesboro Road, Morrow, Ga.

The Lunch and Learn presentation is free, and no registration is required. 

Robin Klemm will offer a look at the Rome Area History Center, exploring the rich history and promising future of this cultural institution nestled in northwest Georgia. The discussion will delve into the journey of the Center from its humble beginnings to its current status as a cultural hub and a guardian of Rome and Floyd County’s heritage. Whether you are a history buff, a proud resident of Rome, or simply curious about the city’s captivating heritage, “Rome Area History Center: Past, Present, and Future” is a presentation that will leave you inspired, informed, and excited about the invaluable role the center plays in shaping Rome’s identity.

Robin Klemm is a recent graduate from the University of Alabama’s Master of Library and Information Studies program, where she developed a keen interest in the convergence of archives, modern technology, and outreach. Within the past year, she has had the opportunity to intern at esteemed institutions like the Rome Area History Center and at NASA’s archives, further fueling her passion for preserving and sharing historical materials. Eager to bridge the gap between emerging technologies and archival outreach, Robin has accepted the position of Outreach Archivist for the Georgia Archives. In her new role, she aims to leverage her research interests to promote and enhance access to the valuable resources held within the Georgia Archives.
