ATLANTA BRAVES CLUB FIVE HOME RUNS EN ROUTE TO TUESDAY NIGHT WIN OVER MINNESOTA TWINS

The Atlanta Braves beat the Minnesota Twins 6-2 on Tuesday night in game two of a three-game set at Truist Park. It allowed Atlanta to take a 2-0 lead in the series and increase their current winning streak to four straight games.

The Braves clubbed five home runs en route to the victory. Ronald Acuna Jr. hit a lead off homer to tie the game up at 1-1 in the bottom of the first inning.

Austin Riley delivered the tie-breaker with a two-run shot and Sean Murphy had a solo home run to make it 4-1 in favor of Atlanta in that inning. Michael Harris II and Ronald Acuna Jr. hit back to back home runs during the second.

Bryce Elder was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. He gave up just two runs and four hits, walked four, and struck out four over six innings. Joe Ryan took the loss for Minnesota.

The National League East-leading Braves are now 52-27 on the 2023 regular season, while the American League Central-leading Twins are 40-41. The Braves have a scheduled off-day on Thursday. They will wrap up their current six-game homestand with a three-game NL East set versus the Miami Marlins over the weekend at Truist Park.

In other news from the Atlanta Braves, the team signed Charlie Culberson to a minor league deal Tuesday. That was just a couple of days after the Rome, GA native chose free agency instead of being optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett.
