ATLANTA BRAVES COMPLETE SWEEP OF MINNESOTA TWINS WITH WEDNESDAY SHUT-OUT AT TRUIST PARK

The Atlanta Braves blanked the Minnesota Twins 3-0 on Wednesday in the finale of a three-game interleague set at Truist Park. It led to a series sweep for the Braves, who have won their last five straight games.

Matt Olson drove in two of the Braves’ three runs. He had an RBI double in the bottom of the first and a solo home run in the eighth.

Ozzie Albies also drove in a run with a sac fly during the bottom of the third inning.

Atlanta’s starting pitcher Kolby Allard gave up only three hits, walked one, and struck out eight over four and two-third scoreless innings. Kirby Yates was credited with the win in relief, and Raisel Iglesias got the save. Kenta Maeda was charged with the loss for Minnesota.

The National League East-leading Braves are now 53-27 on the 2023 regular season. They are off tonight and will welcome the Miami Marlins to Atlanta for a three-game division set over the weekend.
