“I am very excited to announce that Brooke Brumbelow will be our new Public Relations Coordinator,” stated Dr. White. “She is a product of the Floyd County School System where she graduated from Pepperell High School and most recently worked as an educator in our system. She comes to us with a lot of unique experience in the field and is very qualified to take this position. Our schools and the communities will enjoy working with Brooke as she shares and showcases all of the wonderful things happening in Floyd County Schools.”

Brumbelow joined Floyd County Schools during the 2021-22 school year as a teacher and coach at Coosa Middle School. During her short time in the system, Brumbelow was very involved in the Coosa community, fulfilling the roles of the school’s PR and social media liaison and yearbook advisor. She also dedicated her time coaching basketball and competition cheer at both middle and high school levels.

Prior to making the transition into the education field, Brumbelow served as the Communications Manager with the NBA’s Orlando Magic. Her main responsibilities included generating publicity for the organization’s on and off court initiatives, serving as a staff writer and copy editor, facilitating media arrangements for all special events and games, creating positive relationships with both local and national media for the Magic brand, producing the game program and assisting in the publication of the media guide, overseeing marketing aspects for all new and existing initiatives, facilitating media interviews and player appearances and supporting all other areas of the communications department.

Brumbelow began her career at the University of Georgia where she worked in the sports media relations department for five years, both as a student and as a full-time Graduate Assistant. In this role, she was the primary media contact for three Olympic sports, including softball, volleyball and women’s basketball, while also overseeing media needs for the football program.

Following her graduation from Pepperell High School, she attended the University of Georgia. While in Athens, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in sport management and communications, and her master’s degree in administration.

Brumbelow resides in Rome with her husband, Brad Brumbelow, and her two daughters, Harper and Sutton.
