(Media release from Floyd County, GA):
Each year the Georgia Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) accepts applications from full-time students who are considering a career in the public works arena. Through their Annual Scholarship Program, the APWA awards a $1,500 scholarship to each State District, totaling eleven (11) scholarships. Since 1994, almost 200 students have received this scholarship.
Recent Armuchee graduate and upcoming Business student at Shorter University, Kenzie Osborn, submitted the application for this year’s scholarships along with a brief career path essay. Kenzie was encouraged to apply by her mother Mandi Osborn, who is a Floyd County Public Works Administrative Assistant. To her surprise, Kenzie was awarded the scholarship from the Northwest Georgia APWA Branch.
“Thanks to APWA and Floyd County for this opportunity,” said Kenzie. “I’m excited to start my career path with the aid of this scholarship.”
